The I Know the Truth About Horses workshop

Age Range:  grades 4-7

Content: The Truth About Horses is based on my real experiences of growing up with horses. In this session I read from the book and discuss the process of how to turn life stories into fiction. In addition I have a 'horsey' Power Point presentation and saddles and bridles for trying out and display.   

Modern Life in the Middle East Presentation

Age Range:  grades 6-12

Content:  I am a librarian who has recently returned from eleven years of international living. Six of those years were spent in the Middle East: Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. My goal with this workshop is to show the reality of what life is like there and to facilitate discussion about similiarities and differences as well as to lessen the fear that students have about this widely mis- understood region. It is a lively and interactive session with a Power Point show used as a background tool.

Costs: Out of respect for fellow authors and presenters I am charging for my visits. However, if you are from a school or library disctrict that is economically challenged please contact me and I will do my best to work with you.
